Cousinz Festival Scholarship Program

In partnership with Norfolk State University and Tidewater Community College, Cousinz Festival is proud to launch its inaugural scholarship program for currently enrolled students. Our goal is to uplift the next generation of leaders—beginning right here in our community.

APPLICATION WINDOW: July 10 - 20, 2025

About the Scholarship

  • We will be awarding scholarships to support the educational journeys of 10 students, with each recipient receiving funding to support their academic needs.

  • Funds can be used for:

    • Tuition & books
    • Room & board
    • Internship-related expenses
    • Other education-related costs

Eligibility Requirements

  • To apply, you must be:

    • A currently enrolled student at Norfolk State University or Tidewater Community College (TCC)
    • Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Transfer student returning for the fall semester (must be enrolled by August 18)
    • Able to provide proof of enrollment (student ID)
    • Provide evidence of community service or volunteer work

  • Applicants must also meet the following criteria:

    Funds can be used for:

    • Minimum GPA of 2.5
    • Declared major/minor
    • Submit a Personal Statement outlining your career goals and how the scholarship will support them
    • Provide evidence of community service or volunteer work
    • Be present at Cousinz Festival on August 30, 2025 to receive the award (includes 3 GA tickets)

Make sure all required materials are included. Finalists will be invited to participate in virtual interviews before selections are made.

Become a Scholarship Sponsor

  • We're calling on local businesses and community leaders to help us invest in the next generation. Our goal is to secure $500–$1,000 per sponsor, contributing directly to the scholarship fund. 

  • Scholarship Sponsor Package: $1,000

    • 2 general admission tickets to Cousinz Festival
    • Logo featured on scholarship check
    • On-stage acknowledgment during the presentation
